Stephen GLENISTER
Died on 18th March 2026, aged 58, at Stepping Hill Hospital, with his family around him. Known to many as Music Steve, Stephen was someone who carried music with him wherever he went. He loved all kinds of music and often expressed so much of himself through the songs, sounds, and atmosphere he created around him. He loved friends, family, food, holidays, and deep-sea diving, and was always willing to try something new, with a definite daredevil streak. He loved a party, often the first there and the last to leave, and had a natural ability to create the right atmosphere wherever he was. No meal was ever complete without a glass of wine, and he was known for saying that life was too short to drink cheap wine, always encouraging people to read from the bottom up of the wine menu.
Those who knew him speak of someone who never had a bad word to say about anyone, never fell out with anybody, and always wanted those around him to have a good time. His own words were simple and lasting: “Be happy with what you have, not unhappy with what you don’t have.”
A private family cremation will take place beforehand. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to the The Brain Aneurysm Foundation. Those attending are warmly invited to wear a splash of orange. Stephen will be remembered with great affection for the warmth, generosity, and sense of occasion he brought to the lives of those around him. All are welcome to a memorial service to honour Stephen’s life at St Peter’s Church, Green Lane, Formby L37 7DL on Thursday 9th April, 2pm followed by a private interment after the service.
To continue to share fond memories of Steve’s life please party with the family in The Wall of Fame, Three Tuns Lane, Formby. L37 4AQ For further enquiries please contact Claire or Wendy at Hope Funeral Care, 5, Church Street, Southport. PR9 0QS. Telephone 01704 616448
