CCTV released after man, 55, brutally attacked in Warrington park

The man approached by four males, three of which were on bikes and one on a scooter

A 53-year-old man was punched in the face and head and then kicked in the face when he fell in a terrifying assault in a Warrington park. The man was walking down a path in Sankey Valley Park near Old Alder Lane, Burtonwood, when the serious assault took place at 4.50pm on Friday, August 5.

He was approached by four males who stopped him and were verbally abusive to him before punching him in the face and head. The man fell to the ground and the group continued to hit and kick him in the face. They then rode away from the scene, three on bikes and one on a scooter.

The man was taken to Warrington Hospital by ambulance with injuries to his face and has since been discharged. Detectives in Warrington have now released CCTV images of four males they would like to speak to in connection with this serious assault. Three of the males were on bikes and one was on a scooter.

Police say that the male on the scooter was wearing a dark hooded jacket and trousers with a black covering over his face. Another male was wearing dark coloured clothing, a light covering over his face and had his hood up.

A third boy was wearing dark coloured clothing. The fourth male was described as white, wearing a dark two toned top with black on the chest and shoulder. His hood was up and he wore dark trousers and shoes.

Detective Constable Lauren Pedley, of Warrington local policing unit, said: “Since the assault occurred, we have been conducting numerous enquiries including reviewing CCTV footage in the area. Following this we have identified four males who we would like to speak to in connection with the assault that took place.

“I want to take this opportunity to encourage them to come forward or for anyone who may know who they are to get in touch with us. I’d also ask for anyone who has information, CCTV or dash cam footage and not yet contacted police to please come forward.”
