The new entertainment venue will include 25 bowling lanes, a laser tag arena, escape rooms and a soft play area
Tenpin has confirmed the opening date of its new bowling alley in Crewe and revealed that more than 700 people applied for jobs at the site. The venue on Phoenix Leisure Park, next door to Odeon, will launch on Thursday, February 16.
The company said the entertainment centre would ‘provide guests of all ages with a wide range of activities’. As well as the 25 bowling lanes, there will be ‘top of the range socialising activities’ and a soft play area for children.
There will also be two themed escape rooms created by Houdini’s, a ‘futuristic’ laser tag arena, arcade spaces and pool tables. Food and drink will be available, including burgers, pizza and cocktails, as well as TVs showing BT Sport and Sky Sport.

Paula Hotson, General Manager at Tenpin Crewe, said: “Following the success of our entertainment centre in Cheshire Oaks, we are delighted to bring a brand-new venue to Cheshire with our opening in Crewe.
“From striking bowling lanes with dynamic LED lighting and stylish booth seating, to state-of-the-art laser tag and escape rooms, we can’t wait to welcome the local community to enjoy all that Tenpin Crewe has to offer.”
Tenpin, which operates 48 other sites, confirmed that more than 700 applications had been received ahead of the opening. Customers are also able to make bookings as of Monday (January 30) by visiting the Tenpin website.
The new entertainment venue has moved into the vacant unit on the leisure park that was previously occupied by MFA Lakeside Bowl, which closed down in 2018.
The launch of Tenpin would leave the former Pizza Hut premises, near the leisure park entrance, as the only vacant unit on the site. It shut its doors in 2021 as a result of ‘disruption’ caused by the Covid pandemic.
A statement issued by Pizza Hut at the time said: “Like many hospitality businesses, Pizza Hut Restaurants has faced disruption due to the pandemic.
“We are saddened by the closure of our Crewe restaurant, however this was beyond our control. Wherever possible we always try to redeploy our team members to other Pizza Hut Restaurants in order to minimise the impact to our workforce.”
