A teenager has been arrested and one other taken to hospital after a ‘disturbance’ at Chester Racecourse.
Cheshire Police confirmed they were called to the area shortly after 9pm on Saturday (24 April).
Unconfirmed reports suggest that a mass brawl had broken out in the area.
On arrival, officers found a 16-year-old boy from Chester who had been assaulted.
The boy sustained ‘minor injuries’ and was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital where he was later discharged.
An 18-year-old from Wrexham was arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident.
Since the incident, he has been released under investigation pending further inquiries.
Police are now asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with information to contact them.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “Shortly after 9pm on Saturday, April 24, police were called to reports of a disturbance at Chester Racecourse.
“Officers attended the scene and found that a 16-year-old boy from Chester had been assaulted.
“The teenager sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged.
“An 18-year-old man from Wrexham was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault in connection with the incident. He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.”
