The government has revealed how much Cheshire is set to receive in public health funding.
The data shows how much public health grant each local upper-tier or unitary authority will receive for 2021 to 2022.
We’ve provided the allocations for each Cheshire borough and how much this works out at per person.
Cheshire East Council is set for the biggest public health allocation out of any Cheshire authority.
Halton on the other hand is set to receive the lowest overall public health allocation in the county.
Cheshire West and Chester Council will receive the second highest allocation and Warrington Borough Council will receive the third highest allocation.
In regard to per person calculations, Halton will receive the highest amount of public health funding per person, which works out at £80.51.
Cheshire East residents will receive the lowest, with £43.74 per person of public health funding.
Warrington residents will receive £59.44 per person and Cheshire West and Chester residents will receive £47.93.
The total public health grant to local authorities will be £3.324 billion.
This money is what can be spent in a year but, at the end of the financial year, if any authorities have underspent, they can carry the funds over into the next financial year.
The grant will be ring-fenced for use on public health functions.
This may include public health challenges arising directly or indirectly from coronavirus.

- Cheshire West and Chester Council: £16,717,770
- Cheshire East Council: £16,928,979
- Warrington Borough Council: £12,549,559
- Halton Borough Council: £10,471,207
Calculated per person allocations for Cheshire for 2021 to 2022:
- Cheshire West and Chester: £47.93 per person
- Cheshire East: £43.74 per person
- Warrington: £59.44 per person
- Halton: £80.51 per person
