The cheapest ‘staycations’ offered by Butlins, Parkdean and Haven

Restrictions have finally started to lift across Cheshire.

The latest changes easing came on May 17, as indoor hospitality venues were finally able to re-open.

Holiday day rules have also been relaxed, with a number of countries placed on the government’s green list.

Demand for holiday’s to green list countries has already soared, with many airlines putting on extra flights.

However, many of us will want to avoid foreign holiday’s for the time being, instead opting to holiday closer to home.

One of the options for Brits looking for a staycation is a trip to Butlins, Parkdean and Haven.

These cheap and cheerful getaways offer a mixture of accommodation types for all budgets.

We took a look at which of these four destinations has the cheapest holiday available.

To do this, we tried to book a week long stay for two adults from June 11. Each venue chosen was as close to the county’s border as possible.

Butlins

The closest Butlins to Cheshire is located in Skegness in Lincolnshire, just over three hours drive from Macclesfield.

We used their booking engine to find the cheapest accommodation for seven nights from June 11 for two adults.

The Silver Room was the cheapest option available, with prices from £465 for one week.

All rooms come with a TV and free WiFi, a bathroom with a shower, but towels and daily housekeeping are not included.

Those wanting to splash a bit more cash could opt for a self-catering Gold Apartment, with prices starting from £606.

Parkdean

Ty Mawr Holiday Park located in Conwy was the closest Parkdean location we could find.

Unfortunately, there is no availability on their booking engine for seven nights for two adults from June 11.

Instead, we opted for the next available date that fitted our criteria, which was June 18.

At the time of searching, there was only one Flintshire caravan still available, which cost a total of £519.

For this price, you get an ‘extra wide’ caravan with a ‘contemporary feel’ along with double glazing, central heating and a range of other features.

Haven

Haven’s Presthaven in North Wales was the closest site we could find over the county lines.

We put in our criteria into their online search engine and found the cheapest accommodation to be £719.10 for seven nights.

This was for a Prestige New Model caravan, which features two beds and sleeps six people in total.

According to the site, the caravan features a spacious 12ft interior and is no more than three-years-old.

Those wanting to enjoy the sunshine can opt for a caravan with decking, which costs £909 for seven nights with our criteria.

Conclusion

All of the providers we’ve looked at offer a range of accommodation to suit various needs.

For our criteria, Butlins Skegness offered the cheapest accommodation, but this was for their Silver Room.

The cheapest option for self-catered accommodation came from Parkdean at the Ty Mawr Holiday Park.

However, this was for seven nights from June 18, as our original date of June 11 was not available.

Haven in Presthaven offered the most expensive option for our criteria, at just over £700 for seven nights.
