The Cheshire areas where Covid-19 rates remain above national average

Cheshire is finally starting to get to grips with coronavirus.

Numerous neighbourhoods are now seeing cases and infection rates decrease as the vaccine rollout continues.

However, many of these areas still have an infection rate higher than the national average, even though cases appear to be dropping.

According to figures from Public Health England, the national average infection rate for the seven days to July 30 is 279.5 per 100,000 people.

In Cheshire, 42 neighbourhoods have an infection rate above 279.5 per 100,000 people.

Central Warrington takes top spot, with the highest infection rate in the county, with 533.5 per 100,000.

Crewe Coppenhall & Underwood come in just behind Central Warrington, with 525.3 per 100,000.

Meanwhile, towards the bottom of the list areas like Winwick and Burtonwood find themselves just above the national average, with an infection rate of 283.7 per 100,000.
