Chester Zoo’s much-loved Christmas Lanterns will return this year.
The annual event transforms the zoo into a ‘wonderland’, full of illuminations and Christmas displays.
The Lanterns were cut short in November 2020 due to the government placing the country into a second lockdown.
At the time, Chester Zoo announced it would be closing its doors for a month due to the restrictions, with customers who had already purchased their tickets having their dates rescheduled to after the lockdown.
Thankfully, this year’s event will go ahead as normal, with guests treated to a ‘magical’ experience between November 12 and December 23.
A post on Chester Zoo’s Facebook page read: “The Lanterns at Chester Zoo is back for another MAGICAL year, and is set to be as enchanting as ever.
“Join us as we transform the zoo into a spectacular wonderland, full of sparkle, illumination and plenty of Christmas cheer!
“Escape to fantastical worlds, each different from the last, that will take you on an illuminating journey like no other!
“Be immersed in this magical and uniquely Chester Zoo evening event, giving you the chance to see the zoo in a whole new light.
“Let your imagination run wild, and discover incredible spaces, each filled to the brim with colourful animal lanterns, spectacular costumed characters and Christmas scenes.”
