These are some of the paedophiles put behind bars in Cheshire so far this year.
It’s been a busy year so far for courts across the county, with a number of criminals locked up for appalling crimes.
One judge heard about a Widnes man who blackmailed his victims on Snapchat before raping them.
Meanwhile, another judge heard about a pervert who imported sex dolls into the county.
Take a look below at our list of some of the paedophiles locked up so far this year for horrific crimes.
Chester couple subjected three children to ‘horrifying’ sexual abuse
John Blake, 61, was sentenced to 26 years in prison after being found guilty of 14 counts of sexually abusing three children.
Blake, of Pine Grove, Chester, was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for the rest of his life.
His partner, Emmalene Jones, 31, was jailed for two years after being found guilty of two counts of causing a child to take part in a sexual act.
Jones, of Crabwell Place, Chester, was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for ten years.
The abuse occurred in the Chester and Saltney Ferry between 2008 and 2015.
Their victims at the time were between the ages of nine and 15.
The paedophile who blackmailed his victims on Snapchat before raping them
The sick paedophile was jailed for raping two teenage girls as well as a slew of other child sex offences.
The rapist preyed on his victims via Snapchat, lying about his age and arranging to meet them.
Lawton, of Milton Road, was convicted of 19 sex offences, including four counts of raping two 13 and 14-year girls, both from Widnes.
He was jailed for 15 years and given an extended four years on licence.
Lawton was also ordered to sign the sexual offenders’ register and comply with a sexual harm prevention order for life.
Lawton filmed himself having sex with the girls and pestered them to send him intimate photos.
He then used this indecent material to blackmail his victims into continuing to see him, threatening to put the film and photographs on social media for family and friends to see.
Lawton eventually carried out his threat of posting the film of the pair having sex on social media which led to a high school becoming aware of the video and calling the police.
Paedophile tried to pay girl, 14, for sex after booking hotel room
Christopher Edwards, 37, was jailed this year after trying to pay a 14-year-old girl for sex after booking a hotel room.
Edwards groomed the teenager from Warrington through social media between November 1 and December 22 last year.
He was aware of the girl’s age but still sent her a number of sexually explicit images and messages.
In one of the messages, he told her he had booked a hotel room in Warrington and offered to pay her for sex.
The victim reported the messages to Cheshire Constabulary and Edwards was arrested at his home in Failsworth on January 15.
He pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual communications with a child, attempting to meet a girl under the age of 16 following grooming and breaching a sexual risk order.
In March, Edwards was sentenced to nine years in prison at Liverpool Crown Court.
Sick paedophile subjected girl, 7, to ‘horrific’ abuse
Stephen Thomas from Ellesmere Port was jailed in February after subjecting a seven-year-old girl to ‘horrific’ sexual abuse.
Thomas, of Staker Avenue, was caught when the girl told her mother what Thomas had done, who then contacted the police.
Officers arrested the 29-year-old and seized electronic devices that contained indecent images of children.
Thomas pleaded not guilty to three counts of sexual touching of a child under the age of 13 and two counts of producing indecent photographs of children.
He was found guilty by a jury and was sentenced to eight a half years in prison at Liverpool Crown Court on February 26.
Cheshire pervert jailed for importing child sex dolls
A man was jailed after police discovered eight child-like sex dolls at his home in Cheshire.
Cheshire Police said Mark Carter, 58, was not content with just one sex doll and went on to purchase more to satisfy his disturbed sexual needs.
Police also discovered computer containing a number of indecent images of children at his home in Bosley.
The investigation began in October 2018 when Border Force officials at West Midlands Airport intercepted a child-like sex doll which was due to be delivered to an address in Bosley.
The package was withheld and the discovery was reported to officers at Cheshire police who subsequently executed a warrant at Carter’s home.
When searching the address officers recovered eight child-like sex dolls along with computer equipment which was later found to contain a number of indecent images of children.
Carter, of Stoneyfold Lane, Bosley, was sentenced to 12 months in prison following his appearance at Chester Crown Court.
He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for ten-years and handed a ten year sexual harm prevention order.
Cheshire child rapist jailed for 15 years
Ashley Wilson was jailed for 15 years earlier this year.
Wilson, from Winsford, abused a girl repeatedly over several years.
The 32-year-old was caught after he was arrested over indecent images he had stashed at his home.
On the day he was arrested, the child victim revealed to her family what Wilson had done to her.
He was sentenced to 15 years and will be on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
The judge who jailed him told Ashley he had “failed to accept the reality that you are a paedophile.”
Wilson pleaded guilty to sexual assault including rape and assault by penetration.
He also admitted to three counts of making indecent images, one count of distributing indecent images and one count of possession of indecent images.
