Well-known pub in Crewe town centre put up for rent after closure

The pub recently reopened after a refurbishment but closed again shortly after

A well-known pub in Crewe town centre has been put up for rent after it closed earlier this year. The Crown on Earle Street has been advertised on Rightmove by owners Northern Point Developments Ltd.

The pub was refurbished not too long ago and reopened earlier this year. But visitors to the town centre found that it had closed again only a short time later and it has remained shut ever since.

It is described as having ‘huge potential’ and as a free house that is not attached to a brewery. The rent would cost £400 per week and would include the apartment on the first floor.

The description on Rightmove reads: “Fantastic opportunity to run The Crown Pub which has huge potential! The Crown Pub is a free house and is not attached to any brewery.

“Prime location in the very centre of Crewe opposite the Municipal Gardens and directly next to the Town Hall Municipal Building. The pub is also right next to the brand new Market Hall. Within walking distance to all local shops and amenities.

“The property consists of the pub, kitchen and WCs. At the rear of the property is a huge storage area which could be used to hold functions for example, market sales or farmers markets. To the rear is also an outside drinking area.

“To the first floor there is a large, high ceiling function room which would be ideal for holding weddings or events (this area is in need of refurbishing).

“The property also consists of a spacious apartment ideal for accommodation which does also need updating. The rent is £400 per week for the whole building.”

The property can be viewed by going to the listing on Rightmove here. Enquiries can be made by calling Northern Point Developments on 01270 213321.
