When Cheshire’s heatwave will end – and the rain will arrive

Cheshire has been experiencing stunning weather over the past few weeks.

Temperatures have reached the high 20s, with people taking full advantage of the sunshine.

Unfortunately, the warm weather can’t last forever, and rain is expected by the weekend.

The Met Office has forecast rain and clouds for most parts of Cheshire by Saturday (July 24).

Temperatures are also set to drop too, with some areas going from 28C to 19C.

Chester:

  • Friday, July 23: Sunny intervals, 25C
  • Saturday, July 24: Light showers, 21C
  • Sunday, July 25: Light showers, 22C

Crewe:

  • Sunday, July 25: Light shower, 22C

Ellesmere Port:

  • Friday, July 23: Sunny intervals, 25C

Halton:

  • Friday, July 23: Sunny intervals, 24C
  • Saturday, July 24: Light rain, 21C

Macclesfield:

  • Friday, July 23: Sunny, 23C

Warrington:

  • Friday, July 23: Sunny, 25C
  • Saturday, July 24: Light rain, 21C

Discussing this weekend’s weather, a spokesperson for the Met Office said: “High pressure begins to lessen it’s grip by Saturday, as it drifts northwards.

“As it does so, more unsettled weather moves in for the weekend, starting in the south as heavy, possibly thundery, rain Saturday.

“Remaining very warm with plenty of sunshine in the northern half of the UK, and possibly locally hot, especially in the northwest.

“Cooler for some northern areas and windward coasts. Some low cloud, mist and sea fog can be expected for some of these areas, as well as parts of the southwest into Sunday.

“For the rest of the period, spells of rain or showers are likely for many areas, with some heavy rain or thunderstorms possible at times.

“Temperatures just above average for most, to modestly above average in the north. Winds remain light.”
